FiSF Presents: Disruption in the Fashion Industry: Design & Inspiration
May 18, 2016 @ 6:00 am - 9:00 pm
Inspiration: The fashion industry is built on traditional practices and methods, many of which have not changed in centuries. Is the fashion design process ripe for disruption? Will new design tools and technologies change the way fashion ideas are conceived? Join FiSF for a lively discussion on the future of fashion.
What are some fashion trends that are being impacted by technology today?
What will we dress like 10 years from now?
For fashion designers, if you could imagine a technology tool to help with your design process, what would it be?
Our panel of disruptors and industry veterans includes:
Sandra E. Lopez: Sandra is vice president in the New Technology Group and oversees strategic relationships and business development within its New Devices Group at Intel Corporation. She is responsible for establishing industry alliances and generating business for Intel in key strategic market segments, including fashion, sports and fitness. For the past several years, Lopez has been a vocal advocate for the convergence between fashion and technology.
Gary Miller: Gary is the Director of the School of Fashion at Academy of Art University. Gary Miller is a Menswear Fashion Director with more than 16 years of experience in New York and London. Gary’s design scope encompasses building and maintaining a brand’s identity, initiating a start-up concept, reinvigorating an existing line, and nurturing an ongoing successful brand.
