The internet has enabled us to be more connected than ever before. Shouldn’t our wearable technology do the same?
Too many gadgets are still just about counting steps. What about a device that actually allows you to stay safe by making your personal entourage just one click away?
Enter Seam. Seam is a personal safety platform meant to link you to your tribe. The company’s first device, the Lotus, is a tiny clip-on wearable that allows you to share location details, audio, and video information from the front and back of your smartphone with key contacts at the touch of a button.
Touting itself as the world’s best personal safety wearable, the Lotus by Seam connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth. Wearers can remotely control the app to make a hands-free call, start recording their travel journey, or make an emergency call. Audio and visual data is backed up in a secure cloud, which can be accessed by the user and their guardians.
Spot Electric Runway founder Amanda Cosco in the above video trying out the Lotus and discussing the personal safety device category. Seam is aiming to raise $50K to bring their project from working prototype to mass production. Show your support by backing their Kickstarter here.
