Retail giant Amazon is delving deeper into augmented reality with the rollout of its virtual try-on for sneakers. The new feature, available within the Amazon app for iOS users, lets you visualize how sneakers from New Balance, Adidas, Reebok, Puma, Superga, Lacoste, Asics, and Saucony will look on your feet.

“Amazon Fashion’s goal is to create innovative experiences that make shopping for fashion online easier and more delightful for customers,” said Muge Erdirik Dogan, president of Amazon Fashion. “We’re excited to introduce Virtual Try-On for Shoes, so customers can try on thousands of styles from brands they know and love at their convenience, wherever they are. We look forward to listening and learning from customer feedback as we continue to enhance the experience and expand to more brands and styles.”

This isn’t the brand’s first foray into augmented reality. In September 2019, Amazon partnered with L’Oréal’s ModiFace to offer virtual try-on for cosmetics. In 2020, the company rolled out Room Decorator, a way to shop for furniture in AR by placing digital renderings of items in your environment via your smartphone to get a sense of style and scale.
