We Curated a Wearable Tech Runway Show for Toronto Men’s Fashion Week!

For the spring/summer edition of Toronto Men’s Fashion Week, locally known as TOM*, Electric Runway curated a wearable tech runway show. We reached out to our contacts and our community to bring together the latest in wearables and smart fashion. Participating tech companies included Apple, SUBPAC, Muse, 360Fashion and more, with designs from Illuminated Apparel, VX360, Tristan Lucid, Xian, and Saint Jac. For an up-close look at the runway, check out this sweet video from Seam, the creators of the Lotus personal safety device.

Inspired by science fiction, the theme of the show was future noir. The music, which was mixed by Diptic, was taken from the score of Bladerunner 2049, and the background image on the catwalk as well as on the printed Run of Show was borrowed from Altered Carbon, a novel-turned Netflix series set in a strange future where consciousness is immortal and our bodies are just shells.

We are thrilled to hear the show was received well, and that audiences were just as excited about the future of wearable technology as we are! Thanks to all participating companies, designers, and sponsors. We couldn’t have done it without you!
