Save the date! October 7th-8th in Toronto Fashion Takes Action presents WEAR—that stands for the World Ethical Apparel Roundtable. The theme this year is purpose meets progress, and a number of stakeholders will gather to discuss the rapid transformation of the fashion industry towards sustainable and regenerative business practices.
For those who don’t know, Fashion Takes Action is a non-profit organization established in 2007 to advance sustainability in the fashion industry through education, awareness, and collaboration. They achieve this through events, conferences, meet-ups, speaking engagements, a youth education program, and global awareness campaigns. WEAR Conference is their hallmark event, which will take place at the Beanfield Centre on Exhibition Grounds in Toronto.
Speakers this year include: Patrick Duffy, Founder of the Global Fashion Exchange; Jessica Iida, Sustainability Lead at Lululemon; and Chris Homer, Chief Technology Officer at threadUP—to name a few. You can check out the full list of speakers and the Agena here.
Electric Runway is proud to be an official media partner of WEAR 2019. We’ll be at the conference in October sharing real-time updates on Instagram and Twitter. We’ll also be hosting a few key speakers on the Electric Runway podcast to discuss sustainability in the fashion industry leading up to the event.
