Marc Jacobs releases Its First Smartwatch, the Riley Hybrid

If your must-have September accessory is a smartwatch, you now have a stylish option from Marc Jacobs. This week, the American fashion designer announced a $165 USD connected device just in time for New York Fashion Week.Dubbed the Riley Hybrid, the watch borrows from the ongoing trend of watches that appear analog but include smart features such as goal-tracking, notifications, and activity tracking. The smartwatch can also control your music and activate the camera on your smartphone to help you take a selfie. Another standout feature is that the watch runs on a battery, so it doesn’t require charging.

“I find technology hugely important to fashion. But I don’t know how to engage with it as much as I wish I did,” Jacobs said in a statement to the press. The Marc Jacobs brand has been under Fossil Group’s portfolio since 2004.  Since Fossil’s acquisition of Misfit in November 2015, the company has been able to introduce smartwatch collections for the likes of Michael Kors and Kate Spade. Marc Jacobs is the most recent designer from the Fossil Group to roll out a smart watch.
