Next stop, Bangladesh

Today we are pleased to announce that our next speaking engagement will take us to one of the most populated and storied cities on the planet. Home to more than fourteen million, Dhaka will host the Bangladesh Fashionology Summit, an international summit on technology and innovation in fashion. We are honoured to be an invited keynote speaker to share our insights on fashion tech.

The textiles and clothing industry provides the single source of growth in Bangladesh’s developing economy. Textiles, clothing, and ready-made garments account for 77% of the country’s merchandise exports. If there was a motherland for the fashion industry, Asia would be it, and Bangladesh, in particular, plays an important role. The country is the second largest producer of garments just after China, and the second-largest producer of fast fashion garments. So if as you read this you’re wearing something from Zara or H&M, chances are it passed through Dhaka at some point.

Our trip includes participation in the summit itself, as well as tours to local factories and facilities. We look forward to sharing the adventure and insights from this trip. Follow us on Instagram and Twitter to stay updated.
