When most of us think of haute couture, we think of style and not science, but an upcoming exhibition in Toronto will show how one artist fuses fashion design with technological innovation.
Iris van Herpen: Transforming Fashion is a major retrospective set to open June 2nd at the Royal Ontario Museum. The exhibit will feature works from 15 collections created by the Dutch designer from 2008 to 2015. Known for her otherworldly dresses and shoes that defy the laws of physics, van Herpen has quickly become the designer of choice for culture-bending style icons such as Lady Gaga, Cara Delevingne, Beyoncé, and Björk.
