In July, Third Wave Fashion published their third print edition featuring a profile penned by Electric Runway founder Amanda Cosco. Titled “Body Talk, the Connected Couture of Anouk Wipprecht,” the article explores the innovative designs of robotic artist Anouk Wipprecht. In this eight-page spread, Cosco contracts the work of Wipprecht with the rising trend of wearables focused on counting steps and quantification. She highlights how the pervasive trend in wearable tech is evidence of a long-standing relationship with the human body— a relationship that ought to be dismantled if we are to design for a better future.
