Uniqlo Collaborates with Alexander Wang to Create a Line of High-Performance Basics

Any style-savvy woman who survives in cold climates will tell you that Uniqlo’s HEATTECH products are a must-have for your winter wardrobe. The Japanese technology is known for delivering warmth without the weight by retaining the moisture your body releases to keep you toasty.

I already own four of the long-sleeve tops, which make up my consistent base layer under sweaters and blouses (I live in Canada, and it gets really cold here ??). As fall turns to winter, I’ve wanted to go back for more, but I have to admit I’ve found the silhouettes available lacking variety. After all, do I really need the same top several times over?

That’s why I was excited to learn that the company has collaborated with none other than Alexander Wang to reimagine the high-performance line of basics. Wang, the American designer who has served as creative director at Balenciaga, is best known for evolving the urban uniform.

And evolve it has, now into the form of an accessible ensemble of intimates, bodysuits, tops, tanks, and leggings for women and men. Several of the designs are already on my wishlist, including a long-sleeve bodysuit and a ribbed top in lime green. Leave it to Wang to add just the right amount of edge.

View all the designs and stay on top of release dates on Uniqlo’s website.
