Would you wear this Smart Bra?

Wearable tech is getting more intimate than ever. As sensors become thinner and more flexible, it’s becoming easier to integrate technology into textiles. A new wave of fashionable wearables won’t just sit on the wrist, but will come in contact with even our most private parts. Among this new generation of products is VITALI, a smart bra designed with wellness in mind.

Founded in Vancouver Canada (the birthplace of Lululemon), VITALI is aiming to raise $50,000 on Kickstarter in the next month to bring its smart bra to market. In addition to all the tracking features you’d expect from a wearable product, VITALI also measures your HRV (heart rate variability). This allows the bra to sense when you’re stressed and to send a signal to the companion app to remind you to take a breath. The bra will also remind you to sit up if you’re slouching, since good breathing starts with good posture. You can learn more about VITALI in their Kickstarter video below.

While VITALI is positioning itself as “the bra for every woman” it looks more like a sportsbra to us. We love how thin and flexible the material looks, and bonus points for being washable (you just need to remove the sensor), but would you really wear it on an everyday basis? Let us know in the comments below, or tweet us @Electric_Runway.
